Fellowship

Get involved with others, like you, who see God as a priority in their life! St. Irenaeus hosts fun social events at least once a month for kids, teens, and adults. Enjoy some great conversation and maybe even make a new friend!

Sunday Social

Almost every month, the St. Irenaeus Social Committee hosts coffee, bagels, and donuts in our Parish Hall after all the Sunday Masses. This is a great chance to catch up with parish friends or meet people you see at Mass but don’t always have the chance to introduce yourself to! The Social is often sponsored by a parish group who brings information on their projects … and occasionally Catholic books and gifts or Youth Group seasonal flower sales are also taking place. Check the Parish Calendar or bulletin for upcoming Sunday Socials!

Daily Mass Social

On the first Wednesday of every month, immediately following morning Mass, you are invited to enjoy hot coffee, fresh pastries, and wonderful fellowship in our Parish Hall. Stop on by!

Youth Group

Our motto, “ALL ARE WELCOME”! Teens come together to share their faith, develop and foster a relationship with Christ and their peers.  Our youth minister and adult volunteers help our teens to trust, hope and rely and depend on God our Father in everything.

Needlework Club

Join us for sewing and fellowship!  Feel free to drop by Rooms 9 & 11 anytime between 6:30 pm – 8 pm on Tuesdays beginning October 20.   Our informal Needlework Club also meets Thursday mornings from 9 am – 11 am.  We sew hats, mittens, and scarves for those in need; make special items for baptisms; and also work on our own personal projects.  You are welcome to bring your favorite supplies and current projects.  Come sew with us!

Rosary Makers for Missions

Our meetings are very casual: we enjoy coffee and snacks, conversation, laughter, and prayers. New rosary makers are always welcome! No tools or experience are needed as we help you learn to make simple, knotted, bead rosaries (not metal). We meet every Monday and on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 9 to 11am, September through June. Stop by Room 15 of the Activities Building to check it out; feel free to bring a friend!

Annual Events

The Social Commission is a lively group of parishioners that have a great time planning and preparing several events during the year to bring all of us together for food, fun, and fellowship! Below is a list of our usual events. Watch the bulletin and listen for announcements on what’s coming up and how to RSVP. We want to see you there!

Advent by Candlelight:

Parish women and their guests share hospitality, fellowship and reflection on the true meaning of Christmas.  A respite from the stress of the season.

Wine Tasting:

An evening of social elegance that brings parish adults together for the benefit of a most humanitarian cause — OCIMA.

Appreciation Dinner:

Father Brian’s opportunity to thank any and all parishioners who have volunteered over the past year.

Spring Tea:

Tea and hospitality in a boutique setting, with net proceeds going to charities.

Family Festival:

For children, games and prizes; for adults, fellowship and a silent auction.  A parish picnic with net proceeds going to parish charities.
